OK I saw a pic of Janet Jackson where the press was displaying her as a freak for gaining weight. I am a bit pissed off over the whole thing. I have written two different posts on it, and deleted both. Finally, I think I have decided to go to bed and read a book. I soooooo loath today's media.

That's funny! Actually I had written two different posts and deleted them both linking not only to Janet but also the Biggest Loser contestant who gained back all of his weight within a year.

The problem is the diet and exercise plans pushed by the media and medical business is crap since statistically 95% of all efforts fail within two years. 95%!!! Diet and exercise programs are almost guaranteed failure.

If you went to a casino and were told that for every $100 you bet, you were guaranteed to lose at least $95, only fools would willing play. Yet society is singling people like Janet Jackson out as a freak because of a weight problem and you KNOW she can afford trainers and surgery and everything else needed to help control the problem.

The reason Jared of Subway is an icon is because he is the real freak. He beat the odds. We, as a society need to grow up and face reality. If we want to not see freaks like Janet and Oprah and whoever else that packs on the pounds, we need to find something that works. Even though it is soooo much easier to be judgmental when somebody fails attempting a plan that almost never works in the first place.
